Net income for the period of January to June rose to Rp 922 billion from a year earlier, Kalbe said in a statement on Wednesday. Its revenue grew 19 percent to Rp 7.4 trillion.
“In the face of a challenging macroeconomic situation, we continue to deliver healthy sales and maintain relatively stable margins,” Vidjongtius, finance director and corporate secretary at Kalbe, said in the statement.
“Despite rising inflation, we have seen that demand for pharmaceuticals and health and nutritional products has remained strong up to the end of the first semester of 2013.”
Vidjongtius said the weakening rupiah, which declined by about 5 percent in the first half, put pressure on the company’s profit margin. Its gross margin declined to 48.8 percent from 49.1 percent in the first semester last year.
“We remain cautious on rupiah movements and expect some volatility to persist in the near term and to impact the company’s profitability,” Vidjongtius said. He reiterated that the company aimed to increase revenue this year.
Kalbe’s nutritional division — which sells products including milk — grew the most, with a 32 percent increase in revenue to Rp 1.76 trillion, making up 24 percent of the total sales.
The consumer health division’s sales increased 19 percent to Rp 1.19 trillion.Visit us to find a company offering a flexible Protective film Products. “This growth was broad-based from over-the-counter drugs and ready-to-drink products,” the statement said.
Last year, Kalbe acquired a bottled-juice producer that holds the brand Original Love Juice.
Meanwhile, the prescription pharmaceuticals division grew 18 percent, bringing in Rp 1.89 trillion in revenue, mostly driven by volume growth. The prescription pharmaceuticals division accounted for 25 percent of Kalbe’s total revenue.
In the distribution and logistics division, where Kalbe distributes Abbott, Nivea and L’Oreal products, sales revenue rose 12 percent from a year earlier to Rp 2.6 trillion. This division accounted for 35 percent of Kalbe’s revenue, down from 37 percent in the first semester last year.

Hollywood has been mired in a tent pole
The latest movie from the X-Men universe was expected to be a beast at the box office. It was going to shred the competition and attract more than just the comic book-loving fan boys. The publicity drums beat loudly. My way of applying kapton tape to Glass. “The Wolverine” came with so many guarantees of success that it could not miss. But it did.
Since opening on Friday, “The Wolverine,“ with Hugh Jackman again on view as the title character, a furry ball of anger with razor-sharp metallic claws, hasn’t lived up to expectations. It had an okay opening of $53-million, which is not spectacular. It may limp into profitability when you add world-wide figures. Its soft opening has been attributed to a number of things.
First is the bad taste left over from the uninteresting “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” from 2009. The new Wolverine picture scored 35 percent less on its opening weekend than the previous incarnation. Another problem is that the marginally effective movie, set in Japan, seems less an action film and more a personal melodrama. The scattershot story relies on a mysterious woman, Yakuza gangsters, a strange and labored blend of mythology and modern science, and reflections on an old romance. Through it all, Jackman looks more muscle-bound but much less interested in the goings-on. Instead of animal magnetism, call it animal fatigue.
The wobbly open of “The Wolverine” is not an isolated box office quirk. Failures are littering the movie landscape. It wasn’t supposed to turn out this way.
What the world knows as “Hollywood,” the glittering landscape of the six major motion picture studios, was looking forward to a sizzling summer at the box office. Optimism reigned supreme. Studio executives and their marketing teams needed only to convince potential audiences that its mega-budget release was the must-see event of the season.
These costly features are known as tent pole movies, meaning, in effect, that they create a protective tent, stocks a huge selection of aluminum foil tape. a financial covering for everything the studio releases for much of the rest of the summer and, in some cases, for much of the rest of the year. Studio bosses ask this question: Would you rather spend $200-million on one movie that brings in upwards of a billion dollars worldwide, or would you rather spread the budget money around; therefore, making smaller films that might not attract the attention of the target audience: young adult males?
Hollywood has been mired in a tent pole mentality for quite some time, and it looks as if this strategy is weakening. Studios try to keep the mega-budgets a secret, but there are always employees willing to leak that information to the press. In addition to the actual production cost of a film, there’s also a 30-40 percent add-on for publicity and promotion. A $100-million movie could cost a studio as much as $140-million before it opens in the United States. Even if a film grosses its production and promotion budget, approximately half of that take goes to the theaters. So, to be precise, a $140-million movie has to score $210-million just to break even.
It was reported that director Steven Spielberg recently issued a warning about the reliance on movies that costs hundreds of millions of dollars, especially in a world saturated with myriad digital entertainment choices that would have stunned the studio executives who built the Hollywood machine. At a media event in June at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Spielberg said, “there’s going to be an implosion where three or four or maybe even a half-dozen mega-budget movies are going to go crashing into the ground, and that’s going to change the paradigm.”
In addition to the less than stellar opening of “The Wolverine,” other highly-anticipated summer blockbusters have walked into a wall and crumbled. The truly awful and misguided “The Lone Ranger,Uline stocks a wide selection of Double sided tape Products.” with an overall cost some say was $375-million, has limped to a pale $85-million. It’s a certified disaster.
Also flopping were Will Smith’s boring sci-fi epic “After Earth,Scotch No base material double sided tape Products with Dispenser you need for home office or business.” the derivative action thriller “White House Down,” the Godzilla meets Transformers copy “Pacific Rim,” the weird and watered-down “Men In Black” imitation known as “R.I.P.D.,” and “Turbo,” which had one of the weakest openings for DreamWorks Animation.
What is keeping audiences away? Overall, the quality is lacking this season. Familiarity really does breed contempt, as well as boredom. How many robots or White House shoot-outs can you handle? Even “Man Of Steel” lacked originality, but its strong foreign ticket sales have compensated for the low North American box office.Matco Packaging Llc suppliers of BOPP tape, High ticket prices and steep concession costs certainly add to the reluctance of moviegoers to sample films without positive word-of-mouth.

There are people who have sympathy
The Canyons, Paul Schrader's contemplation of moral decay in Hollywood, is that kind of picture that's in some places so crazy-silly you want to laugh and in others so piercing you can't turn away. Schrader has plenty to say: He kicks off with a montage of boarded-up, tumbling-down movie theaters, and their visages reappear throughout the film as though sad little ghosts. But mostly, he channels his feelings of disappointment,Matco Packaging Llc suppliers of BOPP tape, of longing, of an unnameable bummed-out something through Lindsay Lohan. She's the picture's muse and its Shiva, its reason for existing and the force that threatens to tear it apart. People who don't understand movies often speak of them as escapism, a kind of passive fantasy. Lohan's performance in The Canyons, so naked in all ways, is the ultimate retort to that kind of idiocy: To watch it is to live in the moment.
Lohan plays Tara, a woman who could be a Hollywood climber but who really, maybe, just wants to survive. The boyfriend she's latched onto is suitable only on the surface: Christian (the adult-film performer James Deen) is an egotistical trust-fund kid who dabbles in producing horror movies. For fun, he invites outsiders into his and Tara's home for three- and four-way couplings, which he captures on his cell phone.
Tara used to have a much nicer boyfriend, a stalwart, not-at-all-sleazy hunk of an actor named Ryan (Nolan Funk). She pulls some strings to get Ryan a part in one of Christian's movies, though it's not long before the current boyfriend senses the specter of the old one hasn't quite vanished. Christian clamps down on Tara, and his possessiveness flowers into something sinister, like a hothouse Hollywood version of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
The nuts and bolts of the plot are the least interesting things about The Canyons. Christian's transformation from egotistical jerk to megalomaniacal madman takes up too much of the story's real estate. It doesn't help that playing the heel—even such an obviously complex, messed-up heel—doesn't suit Deen, with his sexy-tech-nerd-next-door demeanor. Unlike the veteran porn actor Rocco Siffredi in the films he made with Catherine Breillat, Deen can't melt into the role, though he carries himself with a braggadocio that's something to behold.
Then again, even with all of the movie's full-frontal male nudity—lots of it—Lohan is really all you want to look at. Through most of The Canyons, she's made up la Elizabeth Taylor circa The Sandpiper, all winged eyeliner and exaggerated lips. Yet from certain angles, she could also be a more voluptuous Natalie Wood,Scotch No base material double sided tape Products with Dispenser you need for home office or business. and the combination is stirring. Tara is a nectarine on the far side of ripening, and this isn't a story about innocence lost—she sold that off long ago. But there's a dreaminess about her that could never crystallize into hardness. When her friend Gina (Amanda Brooks) asks why she scaled back her involvement in Christian's fledgling film, Tara evades the question, and not just because Gina is Ryan's current girlfriend. Instead, she asks, "When was the last time you saw a movie that really meant something to you?"
That's Schrader's question, too. Directors such as Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, two of his '70s compatriots, have adapted to whatever the movie business has thrown at them and survived. Schrader hasn't made the same kinds of choices. But then, he's often made more interesting movies because of it, such as the brazen 1999 romantic melodrama Forever Mine. Schrader must feel as lost in the current landscape as Tara does. In that way, they're two of a kind,My way of applying kapton tape to Glass. and the world he has created for her here is half home sweet home and half toxic planet. Cinematographer John DeFazio makes LA daylight look both bleached-out and creamy. This is a place, like the Hollywood of David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, where you can live your dreams or become completely trapped—you're unlucky only if you can't tell which is which.
Schrader is a moralist, but what keeps him from being a pompous pain in the ass, as Woody Allen can be, is his capacity for regret. He doesn't delight in the nastier side of human nature; he's sorry, on behalf of all of us, that things have to be this way. And he's possibly the best director Lohan could have worked with at this point in her tenuous career.
There are people who have sympathy for Lohan, but one terrible thing about the world we live in is that there are still plenty who would love to see her fail. Schrader,Uline stocks a wide selection of Double sided tape Products. for now at least, has built a protective wall around her. Recently in Film Comment, he wrote of the similarities he sees between Lohan and Marilyn Monroe: "Tardiness, unpredictability, tantrums, absences, neediness, psychodrama—yes, all that, but something more, that thing that keeps you watching someone onscreen, that thing you can't take your eyes off of, that magic, stocks a huge selection of aluminum foil tape. that mystery. That thing that made John Huston say, 'I wonder why I put myself through all this, then I go to dailies.'" Why do we put ourselves through all this? Why do we keep going to the movies, when so many of them are so heartlessly disappointing? The answer—and the challenge—is in Lohan's face.

where it counts and poorly
Microsoft's second-quarter earnings report wasn't a disaster. It may have seemed that way to investors, coming at the end of a three-month 25% rally, but what it revealed was a company doing some things right, and some things wrong. For Microsoft, that's business as usual.
The glaring problem was the Windows division. Sales fell 6% year-over-year, reflecting a 15% decline in revenue from OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer, i.e. PC) sales. IDC and Gartner both reported that PC shipments declined 11% in the second quarter, which suggests that inventory drawdown might have eaten into Microsoft's top line. The weak results cannot be blamed on Windows 8 alone, as Apple also reported a 7% decline in Macintosh shipments.
Price cuts on the Surface RT tablet resulted in a $900 million write-down, which wasn't wholly unexpected. When the Surface Pro was released -- running PC hardware and the full version of Windows 8 -- many reviewers felt it better represented Microsoft's strengths, and in the first quarter the Pro handily outsold the RT, despite poor battery life and a hefty price tag.Our Cheap Dedicated Server are ready-to-go and can be deployed. Windows is the only touch-capable PC operating system,The Cases for HTC One to keep your aluminium clad device free of scratches. and its great opportunity lies at the high end of the market -- tablet PCs -- and not with inexpensive consumer devices, where it has few advantages over Google's Android and Apple's IOS. We should know by year-end whether Microsoft's gamble is paying off, as lower price points combine with Windows 8.1 and Intel's battery-saving Haswell architecture.
Initially, Microsoft held back Surface sales by limiting its distribution; only last week -- nine months after the launch -- was the decision made to open up the enterprise distribution channel. That's inexplicable because enterprise is Microsoft's great strength. In the second quarter, nearly two-thirds of total revenue came from the Business and Server divisions, and their combined operating income was $7.2 billion. Both have seen consistent growth and high margins in recent years, a trend that continued in the second quarter. Server and Tools revenue rose 9% year-over-year, while Business sales were up 3% after adjusting for deferred revenue and a favorable currency impact. Operating margins were essentially unchanged at 42% and 64%,Our handcrafted Cases for iPad 4 is inspired by the journals of our favorite artists. respectively. Cloud products like Office 365 and the Azure platform have the rare distinction -- by cloud standards -- of being both profitable and popular.
To put it simply, what's good for the Business and Server divisions is good for Microsoft.Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover with the mophie juice pack. Windows RT and Phone are unlikely to provide either division with much follow-on business – and that makes them distractions. Windows 8 and Surface are intended to ensure Microsoft's presence in the workplace, where its productivity software is legion – and that makes them important. There may be good reasons to fight over the consumer device market, but Microsoft's future is in the office, where it can offer a combination of mobility and functionality that post-PC devices can't match. So far, enterprise adoption of Windows 8 has been slow – very slow – compared to Windows 7, but we need to keep in mind that it's really competing with iOS and Android.
The Online and Entertainment divisions are, like Windows RT, distractions. Entertainment -- the Xbox ecosystem -- suffered a weak second quarter, hit by seasonality and an old product cycle. Online Services -- Bing and MSN -- had a somewhat worse quarter, posting the worst loss in a year. Both divisions have been a drag on Microsoft; over the last two years, Entertainment pulled in sales of nearly $20 billion but only $1 billion in operating income, while Online Services lost $3 billion on $6 billion in revenue. The cases for ipad mini is the latest exquisite release from Apple and as usual, Bing is slowly grabbing market share, and Xbox dominates the U.S. console market, but without profits, and without synergy, their success is of only philosophical importance.
All in all, Microsoft is doing well where it counts and poorly where it doesn't. That's routine -- and reorganizations, like the one announced in early July, are also routine. Redmond's core competency is surviving. It's reasonable to expect that Windows 8 and Surface will accomplish what they need to... and it's probably unreasonable to expect anything more. In all likelihood, the enterprise business will continue to perform well, and Microsoft will continue to waste energy chasing after competitors and colonizing nonstrategic industries.

A parent can time-lock individual apps as well
Rather more clever are the built-in child-safe web connection and the parental controls. The Kurio has two kinds of profiles: parent and child.
With a parent profile, you have a fully functional Android tablet, albeit one with child-like graphics themes (you can download others). You can connect to the net, sign up to whatever app store you like, and get everything you expect from a tablet.
With a child profile, there are a series of restrictions in place, most of which are customisable through a parental profile.
First, the device is time-locked: you simply can’t use a child profile after bedtime. If they want to stay awake, your kids will be forced into the old trick of a book and a torch under the bedclothes.
A parent can time-lock individual apps as well, limiting the amount of time a child can spend playing Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja or World Cup Soccer (to name just three of the pre-installed games), encouraging them to turn to educational or edutainment software such as the maths-based Genius Boxing, one of the two e-book readers or the drawing and colouring apps.
On a child profile, the device connects to the internet through Kurio’s dedicated SafeSearch server, meaning there’s no risk of your young one accidently seeing someone you’d rather they didn’t through a Google image search,Our managed dedicated server are designed to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, for example.
From the parental profile you can restrict internet access completely, or limit it to certain websites if you prefer.
And though the device only carries Kurio’s child-friendly app store, it’s easy to add other app stores if you’re looking to add more adult games or apps so you can use it while the kids are sleeping.
It also plays music and videos in a variety of common formats, and saves photos in a decent selection of file types.
All in all, the Kurio packs quite a punch for its price. Though it’s a little too pricey to compete with the adult tablets for people without kids, that’s not its intended market. From a parent’s perspective, this is an extremely well-thought out gadget, which means you don’t have to monitor your child’s digital activities all the time — though even with the Kurio, I firmly believe occasional monitoring and frequent playtimes with your child are best.
That’s not to say the Kurio is perfect, though most of its quirks are down to the layers of protection it lays on the child accounts.
It can take a while to familiarise yourself with all the parental controls and options. The number of profiles which can be activated on it is limited to seven. And only one e-mail account can be linked to the Kurio store, and that can never be changed.
And although the Kurio has support for around 20 languages, at present there is no support for Arabic or Hindi.
THE WAY Terry Berch McNally figured it, why would a restaurant make a big fuss about eating locally if it didn't also offer guests the option of drinking locally? McNally is a known force in the Philly restaurant scene, a mover and shaker since the late '70s and co-owner of Fairmount's London Grill since 1991. "When I travel in Italy every year, it's natural to drink wine from the region you're in," she said. "So why not do that with Pennsylvania wine?" She decided to align both the restaurant's wine list and the list at her adjoining Paris Wine Bar, which opened last year, with her longstanding eat-local philosophy.
"I'd been working with Eric Miller at Chaddsford [Winery] for 30 years," she said. "But I wasn't that familiar with other wineries in the area." Frequent visits to her son at Franklin & Marshall College exposed her to John J. Jeffries Restaurant, in the Lancaster Arts Hotel, a spot downright fierce about local ingredients and local wines. "The more I tasted, the more I liked," she said.

when jobs are run interactively
Microsoft has vowed Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2 will be the “best” platform for running Linux in the cloud.
Microsoft shops departing from the faith and running Linux will get a “consistent” experience on a par with its beloved Windows, Redmond promised.
The software giant made the pledge to persuade cloud-building Linux lovers to use Windows and Hyper-V, rather than go all in on Linux with Canonical or host Linux using VMware.
Corporate vice president for Windows Server and System Center Brad Anderson said in a blog post that Microsoft is "committed to being your cloud partner".
Halcyon Software, a global leader in systems management software, has announced the immediate availability of the latest release of Record and Playback for IBM i customers. This flexible and cost effective solution automates system processes and essential housekeeping tasks that previously required manual intervention, decision-making or out-of-hours attendance by IT staff. It will reduce costs and deliver significant increases in productivity for organisations using IBM i platforms in a wide range of market sectors including financial, retail and managed services.Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server.
Record and Playback V11 provides a simple way to record and capture every step associated with system processes. It can be used either when jobs are run interactively, or when interactive screens would normally need input from the IT team. A new screen capture capability allows the recording of all keystrokes, including Function keys and the Enter key, that are necessary to submit a job and replays the sequence automatically at the appropriate time.
The software has the capability to create playback scripts that enable system processes, complex, interactive jobs and applications to run automatically without the need for user interaction. Any subsequent actions, should the routines not successfully complete or require follow-up tasks, can also be automated, eliminating human error and significantly reducing the need to process repetitive, time-consuming or complex IT jobs. Record and Playback V11 delivers significant business benefits by reducing overtime costs and increasing efficiency by automating complicated and essential processes such as interactive job submissions, systems saves, back-ups and repetitive program testing.
"Record and Playback V11 is easy to use without requiring high levels of IBM i programming skills," commented Carole Chandler, Sales and Marketing Director of Halcyon Software. "Halcyon Software is making a significant investment in rewriting its full range of system monitoring and automation software tools, taking advantage of the latest technologies to ensure full and continued compatibility with current and future operating systems. This will reduce the level of support required and enable users to maximise their investment in system monitoring and IT automation technology.
Halcyon Software has designed Record and Playback V11 to be faster and more intuitive to use than previous versions. Scripts can be easily edited at any time, without the need to re-record them, to add additional functionality or maintain compatibility with application software updates. This ensures that automated processes continue to run efficiently and eliminates business disruption.
"Record and Playback automates essential system tasks, reduces service delivery costs and improves the productivity of IBM i server infrastructures," continued Chandler. "It will also allow users to manage a rapidly expanding range of IT systems without requiring additional staff resources."
Record and Playback V11 can also be used in conjunction with Halcyon's Advanced Job Scheduler V11 which enables organisations to schedule and track complex job streams across different IBM i platforms to ensure that business processes are running smoothly. It is available either as a standalone utility or as an additional component to any of Halcyon's suites for the IBM i. Existing users can upgrade to this latest release free of charge.

The net result is a vastly dissimilar product
To stay current,Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server. storage delivery engines need to get smarter and more transparent to the rest of the stack, and that means better file systems capable of detecting and remedying errors in real time for volumes that cannot simply be brought offline regularly for something as routine as error detection. Two options include Oracle's ZFS and Microsoft's ReFS. I'll compare both.
Sun started working on real-time error detection as early as 2005 with the initial development of Solaris 11, codenamed Nevada. The prototype product's open-source, next-generation file system was dubbed ZFS, and has continued to undergo development and improvement through the acquisition by Oracle and into the present day.
Microsoft is attempting to create something similar in its new ReFS file system. ReFS is featured in Windows Server 2012 Storage Spaces. At its core,The Career best choose Career at MileWeb. ReFS attempts to solve the same essential issues as ZFS while maintaining NTFS file system compatibility for legacy Windows applications, services and infrastructures. However, ReFS has some catching up to do compared to Oracle's mature product.
Both ReFS and ZFS offer several basic improvements over legacy file systems. First, both detect and repair data errors in real time, without dismounting or interfering with access to the volume. For ZFS, this is done at both the data level and metadata level through the use of hierarchical checksums that persist all the way up the file structure to the root node.
When a file is read, the checksum of the read file is compared to the stored checksum and errors are detected automatically. In ReFS, checksums are taken on file metadata. An additional optional feature called Integrity Streams makes sure that when changes are written, they are written to a different member volume, ensuring that an original is not compromised. This error detection fights against bit rot, the degradation of stored data on disk, as well as hardware failures, firmware glitches, cosmic radiation and other integrity damaging events without compromising the availability of the online file system.
While Microsoft advocates using dedicated SSDs for journals to mitigate poor write performance, ZFS combats this effect directly by writing parity information with a variable-sized stripe.Learn about MetLife's MileWeb Corporate Profile including its service offerings, This mitigates write speed penalties and also corrects the infamous "RAID 5 Hole," a limitation in conventional RAID systems that allows data to be lost in the event of a crash or power failure, which actually constitutes a whole new paradigm in the way that RAID sets implement parity.
The two volumes differ widely in terms of caching implementations as well. ReFS can accommodate SSD caching, but architectural details regarding ReFS caching functionality are sparse, though they do state that DRAM caching is not supported.
By contrast, ZFS caching is well documented and DRAM cache is a core feature. ZFS features three levels of caching: ARC, which is intelligent memory caching to RAM and uses as much free RAM as available; L2ARC, which is disposable (non-storage) SSD read caching; and ZIL, which is SSD write caching that buffers writes to the underlying volume.
Both file systems support snapshots, encryption, very large disk sets, enormous numbers of files and a maximum volume size of 16 exabytes. ReFS, however,Managed MileWeb Cloud Hosting and cloud management services. does not support compression or de-duplication, both of which are core features in ZFS, even though Windows Storage Spaces does support de-dupe on NTFS volumes.
The net result is a vastly dissimilar product offering that seems to offer similar features without closer inspection. On the surface, ReFS and ZFS may seem to be competitors, but Microsoft's first-generation ReFS offering is hardly in the same ballpark as the more mature ZFS. Still, compared with Oracle's 12+ year developmental lead, property within the McMaster community is assigned to the MileWeb Security services Department. ReFS is a noble effort to keep Windows competitive.

The system also keeps the fleet operator informed
More than a year ago MBS Transport operated a fleet of 79 trucks. Today, this number is down to 50, with the company also forced to reduce its workforce by 12 drivers.
MBS Transport, which started operations in 2007, is owned by the husband and wife team of Mervin and Gillian Shkaidy.
While the company is now steadily recovering, Mervin places the blame for the dramatic drop in business largely on a number of strikes that directly affected MBS Transport last year.
Labour unrest at the Rustenburg mines meant it was too dangerous to send drivers out on the road, while August brought Marikana and its ripple effect across the platinum industry. Then, six weeks later, there was a national truck drivers strike.
To make matters worse, a large client also failed to pay a R3.2-million bill.
“It almost put us on our knees, but we recovered,” says Mervin Shkaidy. “Hopefully, this year will be better, and we are already looking at possibly expanding the fleet.”
An important part of MBS Transport’s recovery was to reduce its truck fleet, while also seeking work in industries with more stability, such as coal and chrome mining. Shkaidy adds that history also appears to show that these industries are unlikely to suffer strikes at the same point in time.
MBS Transport also does ad hoc work for a number of clients outside the mining industry, and can move its trucks swiftly to wherever they may be required.
The family business has two depots, in Bronkhorstspruit and Bethal.
MBS Transport’s main business is as a service provider to Eskom, and it transports coal from HCI Khusela Coal’s Palesa mine to the Grootvlei power station along a 193 km stretch of road.
It is one of 67 companies transporting coal for Eskom, and has 33 trucks dedicated to the task.
“We moved 74 000 t of coal for them last month,” says Shkaidy. “On average we do between 60 000 t and 70 000 t a month. You can get these MileWeb Exclusive Features if you reach certain.”
As the service helps Eskom to keep the country’s lights on, he emphasises that MBS Transport cannot afford downtime on any of its trucks.
The majority of the MBS Eskom fleet are Mercedes-Benz trucks, so the Shkaidy family has invested in Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s (MBSA’s) FleetBoard telematics solution that promises to prevent breakdowns, reduce maintenance costs, encourage the improved use of trucks, while also reducing operator costs.
“We are very focused on cost savings, and FleetBoard has delivered on this, while also prolonging the life of our fleet,” he says.
FleetBoard provides each truck with an on-board computer that has several functionalities, such as an ‘event-call’ or ‘home-call’ button on the dashboard that can be used as a panic or breakdown button, as well as online live tracking of any specific truck.
The system can also link a specific driver to a truck, and check his or her driving habits. FleetBoard can provide information such as average fuel consumption, brake use or gear shifting, while also monitoring excessive idling and speed.
The system also keeps the fleet operator informed – when the vehicle is overheating, for example – as it constantly checks the truck’s vital signs, such as oil level, fuel level, brake wear and cooling water level.Check the following list of cheap dedicated linux dedicated server. It can even detect if a light has failed, which can be important in the environment MBS operates in, as trucks must have their lights on at many mine sites.
MBSA FleetBoard South Africa national sales manager Rowlands Peters says the system has already identified a hundred drivers who have been stealing fuel, across a wide range of industries and at a number of operators.
However, FleetBoard probably saves operators the most money in terms of preventive maintenance, thereby curbing towing fees, breakdown call-out charges and operational downtime.
If the on-board system picks up on a fault, details are sent to the FleetBoard server where the severity is identified by a 24-hour call centre. In the case of imminent engine failure, MBSA will contact the customer and the nearest dealer,we've decided to make the below MileWeb Termsof Service available. which will then dispatch a mechanic with the correct parts.
Peters says MBSA believes FleetBoard saves its customers an average of around R300 000 a month.
Apart from preventing costly breakdowns and downtime, MBS Transport has also saved 0.35% on its monthly diesel use the last time it checked –or around R47 000 a month – owing to FleetBoard encouraging better driving techniques, notes Shkaidy. The brake life on the fleet has also been extended by around 50 000 km per truck.

which was one of her favorite memories
A good word to describe the top 10 students in the Toll Gate Class of 2013,Our Cheap Dedicated Server are ready-to-go and can be deployed. according to Principal Stephen Chrabaszcz, is “dedicated.” These high-ranked students are dedicated to their school, and dedicated to their community. Toll Gate’s top 10 seniors are the best and the brightest the school has to offer, all with a variety of talents. Some are musicians, some are athletes, some are even artists. But all of them are hard workers, who cared about Toll Gate both as a school and as a community. Attending schools like the United States Naval Academy and Brandeis University, these motivated young people have every opportunity to make a bright future for themselves, and hopefully the world.
Nina Yu attributes many of her successes in high school to her experiences in band class. An all-state flute player, Yu’s fondest memories are in her jazz band class, and on the field trips she took to band competitions all around the Northeast, including going to the Berklee Jazz Festival.Video Streaming Server MileWeb Dedicated Server Frequently Asked Question. She has also received several band awards, including the John Phillip Sousa Band Award, and the National School Orchestra Award. But, Yu is not the traditional musician. She is incredibly athletic, winning Rookie of the Year and rising to become a varsity swim team captain. The valedictorian’s academic awards include the Harvard Book Award, National Honor Society and Rhode Island Honor Society. Yu plans to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., majoring in chemistry, where she believes she will continue to excel.
While she can motivate herself, her parents help and encourage her, and her sister serves as a role model. Her friends from band have also supported her, making it possible for her to succeed.
Artistic and athletic achievements mark Haley Moen’s high school journey, all of which gave her the opportunity to attend Brown University in the fall, which was one of her favorite memories from high school. We have included the Atomic Writes
Like many success stories of the digital era, FortressCraft started out because someone on the internet said it couldn't be done. Three years ago, while Adam Sawkins was working at Activision's Freestyle Games studio, he had the idea for a 3D version of the brilliant but visually inaccessible fantasy simulation, Dwarf Fortress. He spent his evenings tinkering on the project,Below is our MileWeb Privacy Policy which incorporates these goals. naming it DiggersWorld and slowly building an engine. But there was a problem: he just couldn't get it to render the graphics quickly enough.
Then something important happened. "I was playing Minecraft with a friend of mine, and he asked how the game's rendering worked," he recalls. "I explained about voxels, the lighting, the optimal way that facets are culled, and a little light went on in my head; I realised I could use voxels to make DiggersWorld run faster." Voxels, or volumetric pixels, are essentially building blocks from which 3D models can be calculated and displayed – they have been used for years in games, especially to create large terrains, and since the arrival of Minecraft they are back in vogue.
So back in 2011, Sawkins was reminded about voxels, opening a new avenue for his DiggersWorld project. "I didn't think much further on that until I came across a thread on the Minecraft forum with the header, 'BRING MINECRAFT TO THE XBOX360'," says Sawkins. "It was full of people saying that it wasn't possible to get a Minecraft-style game working on the console. I posted saying that it was, but you'd have to do it all multi-threaded, and take advantage of the unified memory architecture on the Xbox. But I was rebutted with the phrase, 'Lol noob, you know nothing'".
To him this wasn't a casual putdown, it was a challenge. Sawkins is an industry veteran, a self-taught coder who's worked at a series of studios, from Codemasters to Criterion. Like most programming geeks, he says, he's fascinated by maths-based tasks that involve stuff like ray-tracing and six-degrees-of-freedom movement. To him, bringing a Minecraft game to the Xbox seemed like an intriguing puzzle. So instead of just shrugging off the abuse, he spent the next three days working on a prototype construction sim, written using XNA, a set of tools designed by Microsoft to help indie coders create games for the Xbox 360. His project had basic voxel rendering, avatar rendering, networking… but when he posted some screenshots on the thread, he was immediately confronted with a predictable response: "FAKE AND GAY".
"I had to make a video on my phone," says Sawkins. "And then I uploaded it – just to get people to believe that I actually had it running. So to sum up; I wrote FortressCraft to prove someone wrong."
"A flash-aware application optimizes the placement, movement, and especially the processing of data with awareness of NAND flash in the memory hierarchy, and offers configuration options for leveraging the properties of flash memory to improve performance, manageability, and return on investment," said Pankaj Mehra, Fusion-io Chief Technology Officer. "With flash-aware applications, developers can eliminate redundant layers in the software stack, deliver more consistent low latency, more application throughput, and increased NAND flash durability, all with less application-level code. Complementing our ongoing standards work, we are pleased to make NVMKV and the Linux Demand Paging Extension available to the open source community,we are committed to providing wireless MileWeb Services Overview. as Fusion-io continues to add uncommon value to common standards."
"The Open Compute Project is dedicated to promoting more openness and accelerating the pace of innovation in the development of datacenter technologies," said Frank Frankovsky, chairman of the Open Compute Foundation and vice president of hardware design and supply chain at Facebook. "Contributions like the one Fusion-io is proposing today play a crucial role in the work of opening up the datacenter, and we are excited to see what the community does with the NVKMV flash interface."
The latest releases of MySQL databases MariaDB and Percona Server deliver the option for flash-aware operation. These two popular MySQL distributions are the first enterprise applications to ship using Atomic Writes, streamlining the software stack by replacing the need to write twice to maintain atomicity, or database ACID compliance.
"Increasingly our customers expect MariaDB products to not just compete with, but to exceed what they can get from rival database technologies," said Monty Widenius, MariaDB creator. "The highly innovative solutions we have worked on with the Fusion-io Atomic Writes API are a great example of how both companies are bringing the best thinking to the best database in the world."
By enabling a processor to simultaneously write multiple independent storage sectors as a single storage transaction, Atomic Writes streamlines data writes to improve performance and extend the life of flash memory. In I/O intensive workloads, Atomic Writes provides performance throughput increases up to 50%,comprehensive MileWeb Operating System Software helps you integrate and optimize physical and virtual environments, as well as a 4x reduction in latency spikes, compared to running the databases on the same flash memory platform without Atomic Writes. Fusion-io is also extending the general purpose Linux I/O layer to allow these mainstream file systems to make the benefits of Atomic Writes accessible to a wider variety of applications.
"Atomic Writes moves beyond redundant architectures left over from building databases for disk drive systems," said Peter Zaitsev, CEO and Founder of Percona. "Flash-aware applications streamline the software stack to extend the potential of flash beyond basic, block addressable storage. New flash-aware APIs like Atomic Writes help deliver high performance MySQL acceleration optimized for modern datacenter architectures designed around efficiency and performance. We have included the Atomic Writes API in the current version of Percona Server 5.5 as well as the upcoming Percona Server 5.6.Find business contact information and media MileWeb Contact Us By Phone,"
Demand Paging is a method for virtual memory management in computer operating systems where a data block is copied onto physical memory only if an application attempts to access it. In disk drive environments, Demand Paging is unacceptably slow,Our managed dedicated server are designed to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, causing database developers to develop complex alternatives that add extra application code. As new MySQL and new NoSQL databases continue to gain popularity, revisiting Demand Paging in flash aware applications accelerates development by streamlining the software stack. When working set size exceeds the capacity of DRAM, flash-aware Demand Paging provides continued application performance, ensuring that performance bends but does not break. This intelligence helps to provide resources to the most critical data in flash-powered servers hosting flash-aware applications.

What Cisco and Microsoft can really uniquely
The Defense Information Systems Agency anticipates up to 10 awards on a potential $450 million contract to provide cloud computing services to Defense Department agencies.
But to make the cut, vendors will need to go through two vigorous certification processes in which government officials test whether their cloud offerings meet strict security standards.
One of those certification programs is called the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). Once vendors are FedRAMP-certified, they would then need to comply with additional Defense Department security standards to win a spot on the DISA cloud contract.
As of July 12, only a handful of vendors have gone through the FedRAMP certification process: Hewlett-Packard, Lockheed Martin, Amazon Web Services, linux dedicated server CGI and Autonomic Resources.
At an industry event last week in Laurel, Md., agency officials clarified that FedRAMP approval will not be required for a contract award, but winning vendors will eventually have to meet FedRAMP standards to compete for task orders on the contract. DISA will use a questionnaire to assess each bidder’s FedRAMP status
DISA wants secure, cloud solutions from industry for data storage, web hosting, database hosting services and virtual machine services that can replace the need for multiple physical servers. It expects to release the final request for proposal next month and award seven to 10 contracts in March.
Prime contractors must also assure that they have control over the operation and configuration of hardware and software used to store and process government data, according to DISA contracting officials and other Defense Department representatives at the industry event. DISA requested officials not be identified by name.
DoD requires that vendors have control over processes that could affect government data stored in a commercial facility and control over who has access to DoD information.
However, industry concerns about how to adequately meet that requirement forced DISA to clarify what is and is not acceptable. Some small businesses, for example, may not own the facility where government data are stored. DISA officials said vendors who lease or rent data center space could meet the requirement, but they must ensure they have control over the environment where the data are being stored.
The program, which has been running in pilot mode for the past 10 months, is primarily targeted at Cisco and Microsoft partners in the data center and cloud markets. The idea, according to Brian Allison, Director, Partner Solutions, Worldwide Channels, Cisco, is to drive more collaboration between Cisco and Microsoft partners, and to provide more training resources, for both partner communities, on bundled Cisco-Microsoft solutions, such as Cisco's Unified Data Center architecture with Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and System Center 2012.
Allison, who said the pilot includes a "hand-picked" group of Cisco and Microsoft partners, has been successful in driving collaboration not only between the Microsoft and Cisco practices partners often have within a single shop, but also in driving partner-to-partner connections, meaning those between different solution provider organizations.
"Sometimes—and this is a big thing that we are seeing—it's not all under one roof," Allison told CRN. "We are seeing more and more partner-to-partner activity, and that's one of the things I get really excited about. What Cisco and Microsoft can really uniquely drive is the partner-to-partner aspect of this."
Allison said the first step Cisco takes in helping drive collaboration between Microsoft and Cisco solution providers—whether they are inside the same organization or not—is to stress the value proposition that integrated Microsoft-Cisco data center solutions can deliver to end clients.
"Getting these practices—a Microsoft practice and a Cisco practice—to work together, even if they are under the same roof, it takes some time," Allison said. "In many ways, like the transitions we are navigating with customers, our partners sometimes need to go through that same transition in terms of breaking down silos and getting their functional organizations to work in order to deliver the most compelling value proposition to the customer."
Some of the integrated Microsoft-Cisco solutions partners can take to market today include Cisco's FlexPod with Microsoft Private Cloud, or a reference architecture integrating Cisco server and networking, NetApp storage and Microsoft's Windows Server 2012 Hyper V. Cisco also mentioned its Nexus 1000V Switch for Windows Server Hyper-V, and EMC's VSPEX with Microsoft Private Cloud, as examples.

why a service like Opbeat is a critical
While it’s apparently becoming easier and easier to become a developer — judging, at least, by the number of “learn to code!” platforms popping up by the month — the role of a lead developer and engineer within a young tech company has become increasingly demanding over the last five years. The job description now includes an expanding set of responsibilities. While many have focused on the consumer-side, Paul Graham recently wrote that “startups building things for other startups”have the potential to take off in a big way given the growing pool of potential users — in other words, other startups.
Opbeat, a stealth, Danish startup founded last year, is a startup that’s doing just that — particularly for the many over-worked engineers and developers to be found slaving away at your local startup. Specifically, Opbeat wants to help developers by giving them their own, hosted Control Center for the many web operations they manage on a daily basis — and one that can be set up in a matter of minutes.
By doing so, the young startup has attracted some of the most influential startup developers in recent memory not just as users, by as investors. To wit: Opbeat is announcing today that it has raised two rounds of outside financing from an impressive list of investors, beginning with — most recently — a $2.7 million series A round led by Balderton capital.
The startup also raised a seed round earlier this year from a group of angel investors, which include Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger, Facebook co-founder Andrew McCollum, former Spotify CTO Andreas Ehn, 23 co-founder Steffan Christensen and Thomas Madsen-Mygdal, an early investor in Podio, which was acquired by Citrix last year.
For Krieger, the contribution to Opbeat’s seed financing marks the first investment he’s made since Instagram was acquired by Facebook last year. “When I saw [Opbeat's] approach to taking on the challenges of life for developers, I immediately wanted to be involved,” Krieger says of the investment. Having been one of the leaders of a small team at Instagram that was tasked with scaling the app’s backend all while simultaneously working on building the product itself, the Instagram co-founder says that he “could relate to the serious pains Opbeat is trying to solve on the developer side.”
Opbeat co-founders and serial entrepreneurs Rasmus Makwarth and Ron Cohen say that the idea behind their new startup was born from the frustration of working at multiple tech companies, where they repeatedly ran into the same problem. The small teams of developers and engineers at these businesses ended up wasting weeks and months cobbling together internal tools to manage the company’s web operations.
So, they decided to build a collaborative, hosted web operations platform for developers that can be set up in a matter of minutes, so that, instead of scrambling to apply duct-tape-style fixes and focusing on “maintaing,” they can get back to building the actual product. In a post that’s well-worth the read, 23 co-founder and Opbeat investor Steffen Christensen describes how the role of the developer and engineer has changed over the last five years, and why a service like Opbeat is a critical time-saver in light of those changes.
In the age of web tools and development, while the software stack has “become decidedly more varied,” the prevailing mindset is that operations and management should be easy, he says. Many assume that, because entrepreneurs and developers can turn to AWS, Rackspace or Azure — because hosting and dev tools have become cheaper and easier to procure — that anyone can manage web development. In fact, it results in developers “taking over a bigger and bigger piece of operations and, in many cases, all of it,” Christensen explains.
Today, developers find themselves having to deploy code “across several different services and servers, all integrating with each other and third-party services,” he writes, and “meanwhile, they’re responsible for uptime and stability.” In light of this — and their increasingly important role within companies — developers need a control center.
“We didn’t have the build-or-buy option, so we had to roll out our own fix,” the 23 co-founder continues, but, with Opbeat, lead developers and engineering teams now can farm some of that work out to a third-party.
Facebook co-founder and Opbeat investor Andrew McCollum echoes a similar sentiment in his own recent Opbeat blog post, saying that the up-side of the many new tools and cloud platforms available to developers is that it’s now easier “to deploy and scale web than ever before.” As a result, many startups and founders are electing to “forgo a dedicated Ops team for longer,” instead leaving deployment and server management responsibilities in the hands of developers.
McCollum says that he thinks Opbeat can be a “powerful new tool in this burgeoning DevOps movement,” because it enables engineers to “move faster and spend less time fixing things when they break.” In turn, for teams that may not have the same “resources of Facebook,” he concludes, Opbeat can help them “adopt some of the goals of rapid development and empowering engineers” that one usually only finds at larger, well-financed tech companies.
The Opbeat co-founders are convinced that the problem the company wants to solve is one that many startups across the map are currently wrestling with and, as a result, presents a significant market opportunity. For now, linux dedicated server the co-founders say that their key focus is on developers in the U.S., where they see the largest need, and that their new capital will help be used to ramp up hiring and help Opbeat do some scaling of its own.

If you are looking for higher levels of privacy
It is important to note that not all colocation facilities are built equal: for example, carrier hotels and regional network hubs deliver even greater benefits by providing the highest concentration of on-network providers. These facilities give partners the option of choosing from a wide range of network providers that offer competitive prices, as well as the ability to eliminate cost based on proximity. This benefit can be particularly important to enterprise companies with high or unlimited bandwidth needs.
Large colocation facilities also offer significant benefits of scale. By utilizing large power and mechanical systems,The Career best choose Career at MileWeb. the facility can provide high uptimes and speed as well as the ability to efficiently appropriate additional resources and quickly grow alongside your company. By working with a colocation partner, you have the confidence of knowing that additional IT resources will be available when needed.
On the other hand,Learn about MetLife's MileWeb Corporate Profile including its service offerings, IT operations need to seriously consider the implications of the move to a colo environment. It can be difficult for some companies to find a colo facility close to their business, which can make traveling to and from the facility for server maintenance and upgrades costly and unappealing. Many data centers offer options to handle the maintenance for you, but it is up to you to research and ensure their engineers, electricians and facility managers, and the service contract, meet your expectations.
An important variable to consider when it comes to colocation is the data sent between your server and the Internet. Make sure that you accurately estimate the amount of traffic your company will use monthly and that you demand the proper allotment, since increases in traffic can lead to overage costs. Proper planning and working with your colo provider on bandwidth allotment can ameliorate this issue, but this is another variable companies must think about when looking at colocation partners. Choosing a data center that can provide robust connectivity options from diverse network providers will help to reduce these costs further while also providing increased confidence that your connection will always be on and fast.
If you are looking for higher levels of privacy, some facilities also allow partners to buy wholesale data center space to build custom data centers. Intended for particularly sensitive data, this option will allocate dedicated power, cooling and security systems exclusively for your business. It is a great option for companies looking to ensure the security and privacy of their information and is something worth asking potential partners about. As regulations evolve and new ways of selling goods and services pop up, it can be hard to know when compliance is required, and just where to start. who helped battle the flames
Five days later, the downtown here is still a no man’s land, a charred, contaminated place where police and firefighters struggle to empty flooded basements and sift through piles of ash for body parts of 50 missing friends and family.
The runaway train that jumped the tracks here early Saturday, and the billowing explosions of crude oil that followed, have stunned and transformed the 6,000 residents of this village.
“We take it one day at a time — or half a day or every hour — but sometimes it’s too much,Worldwide leader in PET protective film Products and Coated Papers.” said Guy Boulet, 54, whose sister is among the missing. Twenty others have been confirmed dead.
Barred from a half-square-mile where they had shopped and walked and passed the time, many residents now gather behind police tape for hours at a time, staring blankly toward a downtown where fireballs from 72 tanker cars, without warning, turned an ordinary summer night into a terror-filled day.
“A lot of my friends are dead,” said Gilles Fluet, as he stood motionless Wednesday near a cordon of police who blocked access to downtown.
The mushroom-shaped plumes of oil-fueled flame are estimated to have reached 1,000 feet into the sky, visible for many miles from this lakeside village about 10 miles from the Maine border.
When the explosions began, recalled Marc Chaput, 46, “I ran up the street with my daughter and could feel the fire on my back.”
The short-term legacy of those flames could keep many residents from their homes for weeks. But the long-term effects, particularly the emotional ones, are difficult to gauge for the town, where the economy turns on wood products and tourism.
“We just want to go home and retake our lives,” said Luc Chaput, 47, Marc’s brother and a former firefighter who helped battle the flames. Chaput, his brother and niece, and his mother are staying with friends until they are allowed back in the house they shared.
Most people here appear to know someone who died or is missing. As Boulet said, the tough times are only beginning as shock is replaced by the reality of the unthinkable.
“It’s more than awful. It’s incredible how we feel,” said Boulet, whose missing sister, Marie-France Boulet, owned a negligee shop beside the tracks where the derailment occurred.
The Boulet family of 11 siblings — now, 10 — knows she is gone.
“The day after,All the latest Releasing film Products in small size and in resumable. we wait and wait and wait for her call — to hear her say, ‘I’m safe. I’m in a safe place’ — but we never had any news,” Boulet said. “The day after, we have adrenaline. But now, the adrenaline leaves.”

But questions of liability persist, and the board chairman of the corporation that owns the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway, whose train derailed, was jeered Wednesday at a public appearance in Lac-Megantic.
Edward Burkhardt, board chairman of the railroad’s parent company, said the train’s engineer appears to have failed to set the hand brakes properly. “I think he did something wrong,” said Burkhardt, president of the Rail World Inc. board.
The engineer, the only crew member on a train of five locomotives and 73 cars, left the train parked about seven miles outside Lac-Megantic while he spent the night in a hotel. That procedure is routine, railway officials said, while employees take required rest and wait for replacements.
But later, sometime after a small fire was extinguished on one of the locomotives by local firefighters, the train began rolling downhill. By the time the train approached the village, unattended, the oil-filled tankers were traveling at 50 miles per hour, police said.
The timing of the derailment, in the dead of night, could not have been worse for dozens of patrons crowded into Le Musi-Cafe, the most popular nightclub in town and where most of the missing are believed to have been.

Many of us can still hear the admonition of our parents, “You’ve got to learn the value of a dollar.” From our first piggy bank to our current savings and investment plans, we have been faced with the value of our hard earned dollars.
What happened when you started your business? Every dollar you invested was stretched to make it produce as many more as possible. You learned the value of a good product, reliable employees, and faithful customers. Your customers have come to expect quality from you, and they are willing to pay for it. You keep them by meeting or exceeding their expectations. The same thing holds true for your employees. They expect fair wages and comfortable working conditions. In return, they provide you with the human capital to run your business smoothly and when they exceed your expectations, you reward them generously. As these finely tuned gears run smoothly together, your business continuously churns out greater expectations, quality, and value.
Value is what you have been striving for all along. Your business has finally reached peak production and you are ready to sell. It is time for all those years of dedication and hard work to pay off. Your business is so lucrative you are sure of its potential value. Or are you? Your knowledge of your business’s value can greatly affect the sale of your business. Having unrealistic expectations can lead to disaster and financial ruin.
Selling a business differs greatly from selling a home. However,Metal Repair Aluminum foil tape Products is also excellent for metal. there are similarities. A friend recounted the following story over dinner recently:
Ellen and James loved their home. They spent years customizing it to fit their dreams. From the hand-laid wooden floors,This Tissue Double sided tissue tape Products is so cool. family theatre, and custom bookshelves to the exquisite landscaping, in-ground pool, and lighted grounds they had done everything to improve every aesthetic detail.
Then James’ company moved to a more strategic location. To maintain their lifestyle they would have to follow the company. Ellen and James stayed up nights making calculations. Their biggest concern was the value of their home. They counted every penny they had poured into it and came to what they felt was a fair price. James negotiated with a realtor and set the price. Though duly warned about the market and appraisal value of the house, the couple felt their home would sell itself to the right family. The right family came. They were hunting for a house and decided to check out an overlooked neighborhood. We offer a great selection of women's boots and ladies shoes wholesale.
The “For Sale” sign caught their attention and Ellen and James were overjoyed at the prospect of selling the house so quickly.Products from Global Silicon protctive film Products Suppliers. This new couple loved the house as much as its owners. However, the price was beyond their budget. Their offer was 20% lower than the owners’ expectations. Ellen and James roundly refused their offer and showed them the door.
Months passed and a few stragglers came to look at the house.Forward wholesale fashion shoes sold by the case for your stores and boutiques. None of them had the same tastes as Ellen and James. All the possible buyers viewed the house in terms of what needed changing, and consequently, each offer was lower than the first. The owners had refused contact information from the first buyers. Today James and Ellen have two mortgages. Moving day came and went. The house is still for sale below market price.
Negotiating with a reasonable value draws your buyer closer to your side of the bargaining table, and in some instances, it can completely disarm your buyer. If he is reasonable and your value is accurate, your buyer will know that you have done your homework and also that he is dealing with a serious seller. The buyer will relax and as the tension eases, you can close a deal with both parties satisfied.
How do you pin down this elusive market value? Where do you find that solid documentation so dire to selling success? It seems apparent that an appraisal is necessary, but how do you obtain one? How do you know it will work in your favor?
You can choose to do it yourself and spend precious time trying to figure the value of your business. You can pull out scads of records and use rolls of tape on your adding machine. You can pore over market reports and comparisons. You can purchase software and try to input the proper figures into the proper boxes, only to find you are in no better shape than a wild guess would have gotten you. You might decide how much you need for whatever reason you are selling your business and use this figure as a measuring stick. You might believe a fast quarter is better than a slow dollar and you might lower your price as necessary to get “out from under.” You will definitely be out from under – out from under a nice profit.Read the full story at www.sdktapegroup.com/Aluminum-foil-tape_c557!

how Ryan ended up opening an office
Speaking to Conor Ryan is like interviewing the Duracell bunny after he’s chugged down a dozen espressos. The 52-year-old from Tipperary has a huge amount of energy.
“I wish I’d known about the potential of the Middle East 20 years’ ago,” he says about his move to Dubai.
The director of Pan Euro Foods began his career as a farmer in the 1980s. After more than six years working the land, he decided he preferred promoting food rather than producing it.
“I moved into sales and worked for some great companies, including Kerry Foods and Avonmore,Forward wholesale fashion shoes sold by the case for your stores and boutiques. over the years,” he says.
In April 2000, Ryan set up his own business. “We started off selling chickens as well as boiled and peeled eggs.”
As the business grew, the demand for certain produce clearly reflected Celtic Tiger Ireland. “We moved into importing foods like pesto, sun-blushed tomatoes, olive oil from Spain and duck from France. ”
Unlike the Celtic Tiger, Ryan’s business continues to roar.Metal Repair Aluminum foil tape Products is also excellent for metal. “We have more than doubled and sometimes tripled our business year-on-year. I think it’s a mix of timing and aggression that makes it a success. I am never happy and am always looking for new brands to promote.
“Whenever I travel, I go to a local supermarket and see what’s on the shelves,” which is exactly how Ryan ended up opening an office in Dubai. “I stopped off there on the way to South Africa to visit a friend and have a few pints. We went to the supermarket and I saw big gaps on the shelves, so I decided to see if I could start exporting brands there.”
Ryan’s clients include a list of Irish products as well as European brands. “There’s a huge demand for Club Orange,Products from Global Silicon protctive film Products Suppliers. Ballymaloe Relish,We offer a great selection of women's boots and ladies shoes wholesale. Kooky Dough, Glenisk, Cashel Blue cheeses, Dunn’s seafood and Clonakilty pudding abroad. We also promote a company from Down called Mash Direct that makes pre-packed mashed potato, carrots and parsnips and turnip. They are flying off the shelves.”
But while these brands many be popular with Irish people living abroad, that’s not who Ryan is targeting. “I think you limit yourself if you are only aiming to sell to the Irish. I’m interested in promoting good products, wherever they come from. This Tissue Double sided tissue tape Products is so cool.”
With over three decades of experience Ryan is keenly aware of Ireland’s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to promoting food produce.
“We are considered quite a green and organic country. Traceability is also one of our strongest selling points in terms of meat and dairy.
“However, I think many Irish companies fall down when they try and sell their product outside Ireland. People think they can just export a few boxes directly to a company, but they don’t realise there is a lot of red tape involved.
“For example, everything we export to the Middle East has to be relabelled with Arabic ingredients and the best before date added according to local law, which all has to be done by hand in a warehouse first.”
And that’s where Ryan and his team at Pan Euro Foods come in. As well as outsourcing, he employs about a dozen people, including his wife-to-be Julie. The couple are getting married in September and, never one to miss an opportunity, Ryan has timed their honeymoon to coincide with one of the world’s largest international food fairs. The pair have no plans to slow down once they get married.
“Our next goal is to expand into Asia and open offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore. There is huge market potential for dairy there. The cow doesn’t work in Asia because of the climate, so beef and milk products are big sellers.”
2014 will also see Pan Euro Foods push to expand in the Middle East. “I’m really hoping to get established in Iran in the next 18 months. There are 85 million people there, so it’s a huge market.”
But having a seemingly endless supply of energy to succeed doesn’t make it any easier to do business in the region as Ryan understands.Click on their website www.sdktapegroup.com for more information.

Soon Olson added educational workshops
The business owner confronted Cole, and the two men went back inside the building. Cole became angry, started yelling at the owner and tried to take back his job application, according to the complaint.
The owner wanted to keep the application because it was the only way he had of identifying Cole. A struggle began when the owner attempted to keep Cole from leaving the building, according to the complaint.
Two employees arrived to help the owner,Forward wholesale fashion shoes sold by the case for your stores and boutiques. and Cole began kicking at the men and trying to get away, according to the complaint.
For their own protection and to keep Cole from leaving, stocks a huge selection of aluminum foil tape. the men used duct tape to bind Cole’s feet together, Wood County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Quentin Ellis said. When a deputy arrived on scene, he found the duct-taped man waiting for him.
The owner told authorities he found a wallet containing $100 had been removed from the center armrest and was on the driver’s seat where he had found Cole, according to the complaint.
Cole told the deputy he had gone into the owner’s truck to take something,Online supplies a large range of double sided tape. according to the complaint. He said the wallet was in his hand several seconds before the owner came outside to confront him.
It wasn’t long, Olson says, “before I kept getting requests for other situations, especially for bands who needed rehearsal space on short order—and for short periods of time,Matco Packaging Llc suppliers of BOPP tape, even just a day.”
In 2006, Olson was able to acquire the facility at 2818 Index Rd. just off the Fish Hatchery Beltline exit. From the start he designed everything from scratch with one goal in mind—that the facility would be about musicians and their needs.
Within a couple of years, people started to rent out space in the Foundry for music lessons, eventually leading MMF to see education as the core of its operation. “In five years, the Foundry has gone from zero to more than 20,000 lessons in a year, around 500 per week. Every room [of the seventeen in the main building] is filled from Monday through Thursday, 2–9 p.m.,” Olson says.
Soon Olson added educational workshops, like the Rock Workshop. The website description of the Rock Workshop is crystal clear about what it entails: “In Rock Workshop everyone is a rock star. Over the course of ten weeks, bands practice with an instructor, write originals, record at professional recording studio Blast House Studios, and play a packed show at Madison’s top rock venue, the High Noon Saloon.” Kids and adults alike are welcome at the Rock Workshop, and more than one hundred fifty students in sixty-plus bands have recorded well over one hundred songs and played thirteen live shows.
Rick Tvedt, the founder and executive director of the Madison Area Music Association and contributor, has a keen awareness of the significant impact the Foundry is making. “The thing that sets the Foundry apart is the instruction; not only do kids and young bands get to rehearse and record, but they get taught by some amazing people,” he says. “I can’t begin to imagine what my life might be like if I had had the Foundry when I was growing up. My first experience in a studio was in 1982, in Boscobel—I think we used 16-track tape! But now students from about thirteen to seventeen years old get to go into a professional studio and learn real production values. That opens your mind up, and you never hear music the same way again.”
But adding a professional recording studio to the Madison Music Foundry nearly remained a dream; in fact, the Foundry itself almost closed just as Olson was getting on his feet.
“In 2011 I had twenty teachers who were making an important part of their living at the Foundry, and I had my first quarter where I was going to be in the black,” he says. “But in the wake of the financial struggles going on, my note got called early. In November 2011 I started thinking I was going to go out of business, but I fought tooth and nail and ended up in a better place.”
Olson found a smaller, local bank that not only allowed him to refinance the Foundry, but also keep Blast House Studios, an existing professional studio on nearby Jonathon Drive he purchased in 2009.
The last eighteen months have not only seen the Foundry jumping with increasing activity, but it has also been recognized for its myriad unique qualities. Last October, Isthmus awarded Madison Music Foundry a “Bridge Builder” award, and in early June, MMF won a Dane County Small Business award, which recognized the Foundry for its workplace environment and impact in the community. We offer a great selection of women's boots and ladies shoes wholesale.Read the full story at www.sdktapegroup.com/BOPP-tape_c556!

They three were evaluated on professional appearance
Caitlyn Gerlach was selected by judges during the first day of the 161st county fair.
She was crowned at the Wilbert Betschler Memorial Grandstand Wednesday between classes of the Badger State Tractor pull by 2012 Fairest of the Fair Willow Hombsch. Also on hand was State Fairest of the Fair Steffanie Koch of Dodge County.
Gerlach was one of three women vying for the title and public relations position of “Fairest of the Fair.” Kamilla Thoma and Mary Wentzel, both of Watertown, also were contestants.
“I am pretty excited,” Gerlach said. “It’s an honor. Working with both of these other girls is amazing. I’m so glad I got to share my experience with them and I encourage them to try again.”
This year’s Fairest of the Fair season began with Jefferson County Dairy Breakfast. The three contestants passed out brochures and met with the more than 1,500 area residents attending the Fair Park event.
It offered an opportunity for judges Trent Topel, an area businessman from Cambridge,Matco Packaging Llc suppliers of BOPP tape, and Staci Hoffman, Jefferson County register of deeds, to meet the contestants.
On June 3, the contestants had a day full of activities. That morning, they participated in a meet-and-greet with the judges before heading out to WSLD in Whitewater to tape radio promotions for the fair. Following their time at the radio station, the young women returned to the Fair Park for one-on-one formal interviews, lunch and then a group interview session.
A second round of interviews took place on June 17 as the trio was invited to a pizza party, at which the judges asked questions about how the contestants would handle different public-relations matters.
In the competition, they three were evaluated on professional appearance, community activities, personality, poise, fair knowledge and experience, speaking ability, their written application,Forward wholesale fashion shoes sold by the case for your stores and boutiques. the personal interview and the radio commercial.
Gerlach, a Palmyra-Eagle High School graduate, has been active with the Palmyra Oak Hill Hustlers 4-H Club. She participated in photography, veterinary science, arts and crafts, canned foods, clothing, rabbits, stocks a huge selection of aluminum foil tape. horse and pony and beef projects.

At the 2014 Wisconsin Association of Fairs convention in January, 2012 Fairest of the Fair Willow Hombsch will represent Jefferson County, while Gerlach will attend the convention as a fair representative to experience the entire fair industry process while gaining knowledge to better serve Jefferson County and the future of the county fair. As 2013 Fairest of the Fair,Online supplies a large range of double sided tape. Gerlach will represent Jefferson County at the 2015 Wisconsin Association of Fairs convention in Wisconsin Dells.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Hombsch offered her farewell remarks by offering a gift basket of items to this year’s winner.
First were bobby pins, which she said was essential to keep the crown on for the remaining days of the fair. She noted that it takes about 15 to hold the crown on securely.
“If this year’s fair is anything like last year’s fair, it will be hot,” she said with a smile. “You may also find yourself sweating a little when that 1,200 pound steer is dancing near your toes at the Meat Animal Sale auction.”
“Oh, the miles you will walk at fair,” she said. “From the Extreme Canine Show to pig judging to the Agri-Business Tent to the commercial barn to introducing Little Big Town’s performance, I guarantee you would end up with blisters without these guys.”Click on their website www.sdktapegroup.com/Double-sided-tape_c546 for more information.

which indicated that employees were prohibited
Have you ever sent a dirty joke or picture to somebody's email address? Have you ever sent it to their work email address, whether intentionally or not? Before you ever do such a thing I want you to remember the story of Bob and Doug.
Bob and Doug worked at a call centre in New Brunswick. They had a mutual friend who, in a nine-week period in 2010, sent both of them a dozen emails with pornographic content and attachments.
The only response Bob and Doug made was to one email where Doug told their mutual friend he had too much time on his hands. All of the emails were promptly deleted by Bob and Doug. A few were forwarded to their home email addresses. None were circulated to other employees or anyone else or saved on the system.
Sometime later, the employer's new super duper server found these emails.
They were each called into separate meetings where they acknowledged having received the emails.Check the following list of cheap dedicated MileWeb linux dedicated server. The employer told them that their behaviour constituted a breach of its policies and an irreparable breach of trust. They were both fired on the spot with cause. That means they were not offered any severance package.
The employer had a handbook which indicated that employees were prohibited from accessing, transmitting, receiving or storing discriminatory, profane, harassing or defamatory information on the computer system.
Employees can hardly control what they receive although arguably Bob and Doug should have simply told their friend to stop sending these emails. Also, they should have reported the issue immediately to management. By flipping one or two of the emails to their personal email address, they were in fact, using the company equipment to transmit pornography.
But Bob and Doug had rendered many years of loyal service each with clean records.
Surprisingly, this case made it all the way to the New Brunswick Court of Appeal which ultimately said, "The case at hand deals with the summary dismissal of long-standing employees with unblemished records of dedicated service. They were call centre employees, not morality instructors." The court found that the employer, a call centre, was not warranted in taking a puritanical or absolutist approach to discipline and while a warning or suspension might have been in order, a termination without severance was not.
The court's finding in this case is not surprising. What is surprising is that anyone really thought there was just cause to terminate these employees without any severance package. These cases are viewed by the courts within their context and you don't get to drop the axe on a perfectly good employee for such a minor infraction without having to pay the price.
The more important lesson from Bob and Doug's story is one for their friend. We can't really blame the friend as many people do this … send dirty emails to others. He certainly didn't think he was going to get them fired. But win or lose their case, Bob and Doug were still out of a job and a job is always better than a lawsuit. A successful lawsuit is cold comfort when you have lost your means of support.
Employers are becoming more and more strict in enforcing their computer use policies. A severance package is small comfort for the loss of a regular pay cheque to support your family and yourself. Don't endanger somebody else's employment by sending any kind of humorous or off-colour emails to their work email address.
